Guess what finally happened?! BOOT CAMP!! I’m not gonna to lie, there were days I thought this past week would never happen. Days where I felt depressed and alone in this 2 year long journey. Days that I felt like giving up on my World Race dream.

But God.

God is so faithful. I cannot even begin how to express the depth in which I feel loved by the Father in this moment. He has fulfilled every single promise in due season.

Ecclesiastes 3:1 For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven

Boot Camp was better than I could think, ask, or imagine…that’s saying a lot since I’ve had a lot of time to form my own ideas of what boot camp would look like haha 😉

I finally got to meet my 40 Squad mates and oh my gosh I love them all so, so much. Each one holds a special place in my heart. I also got to meet some of our leadership team that will be serving alongside us at various times during the Race and I already feels so connected with them all.

From waking up early to spend time with the Lord, eating family-style & trying foods from different cultures, team building, incredible worship sessions, and so much more. Every day of Boot Camp was filled with so much life!

I learned what it looks like to live in Christ-centered community in just a short few days and let me tell you, I didn’t want to leave. There is something so beautiful in being surrounded by people who cheer you on in every circumstance. People who laugh with you in the light moments and cry with you in the heavy.

It hasn’t fully set in that I get to spend 9 months living with these people.

I am forever grateful for the place my old squad, Gap F had in my life (and I’ll finally get to meet some of them in Sep!! Like seriously wow. Thanks God! Your goodness overwhelms me) but I know the Lord called me to wait on the Race for that season and to finally get to see the fruit of the waiting is beautiful to say the least.

So yeah! Boot Camp was awesome, God is good, and I am really thankful for a warm bed and running water. See ya in September Gap i, pinkies up!

  2. Jesus is so, so good to you, Amelia! I wonder if the “fruit” you’re tasting is even sweeter after a season of waiting? I typically remind myself that to wait well creates the day of fulfillment to be that much sweeter. We’re thankful to have your kind heart on Gap I!
