Waves of Freedom

Jaco, Costa Rica November 2021

As I sit here writing this blog from my new home in Guatemala, I can’t help but smile as I reflect back on this incredible day.

During one of the last weekends in Jaco, I walked down to the beach with the whole Squad. Excitement and anticipation filled the air and laughter echoed through the streets. Today was finally the big day we had all been waiting for. I stepped onto the crowded beach and looked out over the waves. They were big and gnarly and the tide was starting to come in. No turning back now.

We gathered together and after a time of worship and prayer, the baptisms began. Men and women surrendering everything and giving their full yes to the Lord. The waves were strong and many times they had to fight to even get far enough out into the water, but nothing was going to stop their pursuit of freedom and new life. In the end over half the Squad got baptized. What a beautiful sight.

Thank you Jesus.

  1. Amelia! I love you dearly! You have such a gift being able to capture these beautiful moments! I am so proud of you for using your gift to glorify the Lord!

  2. The videos people posted from that day brought so much joy in our hearts and praises to the Lord. What an amazing thing to have experienced.
We see growth in you when we get to spend time with the squad. A growth in simply having a humble servants heart, that loves without expectations.
    Miss you
